Dental care should feel like a retreat

Everything on this list is yours for the asking, and none of it is assumed. Tell the front desk or your hygienist what you want and it will be waiting at your chair: a blanket, a pillow, a warm towel, a cover for your eyes. If what you would rather have is a quiet room and no small talk, that counts as a request too.

Choose Your Comforts

Small touches that make a big difference

Warm Blanket

A soft fleece blanket over your lap and shoulders. Treatment rooms run cool, and this is the request we hear most often in the first five minutes.

Neck Pillow

Memory foam behind your neck while the chair is reclined. Ask for it if your neck or jaw stiffens up during longer appointments.

Massage Chair

The treatment chair vibrates on a low setting. It helps with the shoulder tension that builds up without you noticing it.

Warm Towel

A warm towel for your face and hands. Most people want it at the end, once a cleaning is finished.

Eye Covers

A soft cover that blocks the overhead lamp. Ask for it if the light bothers you, or if you would rather not watch.

Massager

A handheld massager for your shoulders during treatment. Say the word and we will hand it to you.

If the dentist makes you anxious

Say so when you book rather than when you are already in the chair. We put a longer slot on the calendar so nothing has to be rushed, and we tell you what is about to happen before it happens. No instrument goes near your mouth without a warning first.

Agree on a stop signal at the start of the appointment. Raise your hand and we stop, set the instruments down, and wait until you say to carry on. You will not be talked out of the pause.

Numbing gets time to work, and we test it before we begin. If you can still feel the tooth, say so and we add more. Nobody here will comment on how long it has been since your last cleaning, and nobody will lecture you about what we find.

How to ask for any of it

There is no form to fill in. Mention it when you book, tell the front desk when you check in, or say it to your hygienist once you are in the room. Any of those works, and asking twice is fine.

You can change your mind partway through. If the blanket gets too warm or the chair vibration stops helping, say so and we will sort it out. None of this is a commitment you are stuck with for the rest of the appointment.

If what you want is not on the list, ask anyway. Music through your own headphones, a break halfway through a long appointment, a chair that sits more upright: most requests are easier to grant than people expect.
