How same-day crowns work at Avora Dental
Traditionally, a crown takes two visits and a temporary crown in between. With CEREC same-day technology, we do it in one. After we prepare the tooth, a digital scanner captures its exact shape, with no messy impression putty. We design your crown on screen, then mill it from a solid ceramic block in our office.
We check the fit and bite, make any final adjustments, and bond the permanent crown before you leave. Most appointments take a few hours from scan to finished crown.
Same-day crown or lab-made crown?
Many crowns can be completed the same day, but not every case is a fit. Some situations, such as certain front teeth where the shade and translucency matter most, or complex bites, may be better served by a lab-fabricated crown. We'll tell you honestly which option we'd choose for your tooth and why, rather than defaulting to one approach.

Caring for your new crown
A crown doesn't need special products. Brush twice a day, floss (especially around the crown's edge), and keep up your regular exams so we can catch any issue early. Avoid chewing ice or using your teeth as tools, and let us know if you grind your teeth, since a nightguard can protect the crown. With good care, many crowns last a decade or more.
